Monday, November 24
Game #9 La Salle (75) vs. Valparaiso (70) - (7th/8th place) - OT
La Salle fought off a late game comeback that took them to overtime to beat Valparaiso and take 7th place in the 2008 Paradise Jam Tournament. The Explorers ended regulation hitting 13 of their last 15 free throws. Jerrell Williams led La Salle with 19 points, 9 of which came from the free throw line. De'Adre Haskins led Valpo with 20 points, shooting 5 for 6 from behind the arc.
Game #10 Southern Mississippi (64) vs. Iona (63) - (4th/6th place)
The Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles defeated the Iona Gaels to take fourth place in the Paradise Jam Men's Basketball Tournament. The Golden Eagles edged the Gaels in large part due to the play of R.L. Horton and Jeremy Wise. Horton had 19 points while Wise added 16, including two key free throws in the final minute to seal the victory. The Gaels had three players in double figures with Kashif Pratt leading the group with 14 points.
Game #11 Miami (80) vs. San Diego (45) - (3rd/5th place)
The Miami Hurricanes had little trouble defeating the San Diego Toreros to capture 3rd place in the Paradise Jam Men's Basketball Tournament. Four players scored in double figures for the ‘Canes as Brian Asbury led all scorers with 14 points. Ironically Jimmy Graham grabbed a double-double on his 22nd birthday with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Chris Lewis led the Toreros with 11 points.
Game #12 Connecticut (76) vs. Wisconsin (56) - (Championship)
The Connecticut Huskies defeated the Wisconsin Badgers to win the 2008 Paradise Jam championship behind the MVP performance of Hasheem Thabeet who set a tournament record with 15 total blocked shots and a single game record on Sunday against Miami with 7 swats in a single game. The Badgers started strong in the first half with solid outside shooting and managed to hold a 5 point lead until the Huskies’ stifling defense forced turnovers and created fast break opportunities to help them take control of the game. Keaton Nankivil led the Badgers with 11 points and Trevon Hughes was named to the all-tournament team. The Huskies were led by Jerome Dyson’s 21 points.

Game #7 Miami (63) vs. Connecticut (76)
The Connecticut Huskies defeated the Miami Hurricanes 76-63 in physical battle on the court in Saturday night's first semi-final match up. Hasheem Tabeeth led the Huskies with 19 points and 14 rebounds and his 7 blocked shots set a single game tournament record. The Husky's A.J. Price also had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Jack McClinton led the Hurricanes with 27 points.
Game #8 San Diego (49) vs. Wisconsin (64)
The Wisconsin Badgers defeated the San Diego Toreros 64-49 and reserved a spot in tomorrow evening's Paradise Jam championship game. Trevon Hughes had a team high 22 points for the Badgers, while Brandon Johnson led the Toreros with 19.
Saturday, November 22
Game #5 Southern Mississippi (76) vs. La Salle (72) - OT
The Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles defeated the LaSalle Explorers 76-72 in an overtime thriller after trailing most of the game. The game was tied at 65 with 1.8 seconds remaining when Vernon Goodridge of La Salle was unable to convert on either of his two free throws to take the lead. Jeremy Wise of Southern Miss was then able to penetrate the lane and hoist a floater over the Golden Eagles tenacious defense, but it rolled in and out as the horn for regulation sounded. Wise led the Golden Eagles with 25 points while Rodney Green led the Explorers with 22 points.
Game #6 Valparaiso (55) vs. Iona (75)
The Iona Gaels defeated the Valparaiso Crusaders 75-55 in Saturday night’s last Quarter-Final game. It was an impressive showing from the Gaels with three players scoring in double figures. Milan Prodanovic led the squad with 19 points shooting 5 for 7 behind the arc. De’Andre Haskins also led his team with 19 points for the Crusaders.
Friday, November 21
Game #1 Southern Mississippi (60) vs. Miami (70)
In the first game of the Paradise Jam Men’s Basketball Tournament the Miami Hurricanes defeated the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles 70-60. It started out as a tight game until Miami pulled away at the end of the first half finishing it off with a buzzer-beating three pointer by Lance Hurdle. Jeremy Wise of Southern Miss led all scorers with 21 points. Dwayne Collins led Miami with 14 points.
Game #2 San Diego (73) vs. Valpraiso (66)
The San Diego Toreros defeated the Valparaiso Crusaders 73-66 in a hard fought battle that went down to the wire. Gyno Pomare of the Toreros led all scorers with 17 points, and he added 12 rebounds to post the tournament's first double-double. Erik Buggs of the Crusaders added 16 points himself knocking down 3 of 4 three pointers.
Game #3 La Salle (81) vs. Connecticut (89)
The UConn Huskies defeated the LaSalle Explorers 89-81 in the most exciting game of the Paradise Jam tournament thus far. The Huskies registered four players in double figures with Kemba Walker leading the team with 23 points. The Explorers also had four players in double figures with Rodney Green leading the squad with 25 points. A terrific match up is scheduled Sunday evening at 7PM between the Huskies and the Miami Hurricanes.
Game #4 Iona (58) vs. Wisconsin (60 - OT)
The Wisconsin Badgers defeated the Iona Gaels 60-58 in an overtime thriller. Wisconsin faced two potential game-winning shots in the final 16 seconds, but the Badgers were fortunate enough to prevail. Trevon Hughes led the Badgers with 21 points while Jason Bohannon chipped in 13. Jonathan Huffman led the Gaels with 15 points.
