Thursday, November 26
Island Division - South Carolina (67) vs. Oklahoma (75)
In the first game of the Island Division between the South Carolina Gamecocks and #20 Oklahoma Sooners, the Sooners held off a late run by the Gamecocks to win, 75-67. The Sooners led by as many as 20 in the first half. Nyeshia Stevenson had 16 points and Whitney Hand followed right behind her with 15 points for the Sooners. South Carolina's Kelsey Bone was the top scorer of the game with 18 points and Valerie Nainima had 14 points in the loss.
Island Division - San Diego State (79) vs. Notre Dame (84)
Coach McGraw won her 500th game with the Fighting Irish as #5 Notre Dame beat #23 San Diego State, 84-79. Notre Dame held the upper hand, leading San Diego State throughout the game. San Diego State made a late run to bring the game within three points at the end of the second half, however Notre Dame prevailed. Notre Dame's scoring was led by Skylar Diggins with 21 points and Lindsay Schrader with 16 points. Jene Morris had 32 points and Quenese Davis 25 points for San Diego State.
Reef Division - Notre Dame (51) vs. South Carolina (66)
The first game of the Reef division was the battle of the east and west coast as the University of Southern California took on Rutgers University. Rutgers cruised for the win, 66-51, behind Chelsey Lee's double double of 15 points and 12 rebounds and Nikki Speed's 13 points. The top scorer for the game was USC’s Ashley Corral with 24 points and five assists.
Reef Division - Mississippi State (55) vs. Texas (73)
In the second game of the Reef Division, #13 Texas defeated #19 Mississippi State, 73-55. In the first half, the game was close but after halftime Texas made some adjustments and took advantage of their six-point lead. Ashleigh Fontenette scored a game-high 20 points for Texas while Mississippi State's leading scorer was Armelie Lumanu with 14 points. MSU's Alexis Rack, coming off a 43-point game, was held to 13 points.
Friday, November 27th
Island Division - Notre Dame (78) vs. South Carolina (55)
No. 5 Notre Dame gained their second tournament win, 78-55, as they defeated South Carolina. Notre Dame outscored South Carolina in the paint, 34-16. Four out of five Notre Dame starters had double figures: Melissa Lechlitner led the way with 15 points, Ashley Barlow scored 14 points, Skylar Diggins had 12 points and Becca Bruszewski added 11 points. South Carolina had two players in double figures: Valerie Nainima (15 points) and Kelsey Bone (14 points).
Island Division - Oklahoma (87) vs. San Diego State (48)
The #20 Oklahoma Sooners had all their starters in double figures as they beat the #23 San Diego State Aztecs, 87-48. The Sooners defense held the Aztecs to only 15 points in the first half while committing 22 turnovers. The Sooners leading scorers were Nyeshia Stevenson and Abi Olajuwon, who had 14 points each. All the San Diego State players in the game scored, but their leading scorer was Paris Johnson with 10 points.
Reef Division - Rutgers (62) vs. Mississippi State (54)
Rutgers upset #19 Mississippi State with their second win of the tournament, 62-54. Mississippi State forced 20 turnovers but only converted nine points off those turnovers. Rutgers' Brittany Ray had a season-high 27 points to earn top scorer of the game and April Sykes added 12 points. Alexis Rack was the leading scorer for Mississippi State with 17 points followed by Armelie Lumanu, who had 12 points off the bench.
Reef Division - Texas (54) vs. Southern California (61)
The University of Southern California upset #13 Texas with a 61-54 win. Early in the game, each team matched each other point for point, with three lead changes and four ties, however in the second half USC started to pull away. They held off a late rally with consecutive three's to pull Texas within four. USC's scoring assault was led by Aarika Hughes and Kari LaPlante with 12 points. Texas was led by Kathleen Nash with 17 points and Brittany Raven with 15 points.
Saturday, November 28th
Island Division - San Diego State (55) vs. South Carolina (58)
South Carolina upset #23 San Diego State, 58-55. Each team was really competitive in seeking their first tournament win. The game had 17 ties and 12 lead changes. Leading the way for South Carolina was Charenee Stephens with 20 points on 9-13 shooting from the field while Valerie Nainima had 11 points and five assists for the win. San Diego State's leading scorer was Allison Duffy with 13 points. Her teammate Jene Morris added 11 points as she accomplished the milestone of scoring more than 1,000 points as an Aztec.
Island Division - Oklahoma (71) vs. Notre Dame (81)
#5 Notre Dame captured the Paradise Jam Island Division Championship game over #20 Oklahoma, 81-71. The two teams were undefeated in the tournament coming into tonight's game. Notre Dame's bench had a major impact on the game as they outscored Oklahoma's bench 30-9. Island Division MVP Skylar Diggins had 16 points and four assists to lead Notre Dame and Brittany Mallory had 15 points and four assists to follow. Island Division All Tournament Team Member Danielle Robinsion was the game's leading scorer with 26 points and six assists for Oklahoma. Amanda Robinson had 12 points and five steals in the loss.
Reef Division - Southern California (64) vs. Mississippi State (60)
USC upset another ranked team, #19 Mississippi State, in another close contest, 64-60. USC finished the tournament 2-1 and Mississippi State fell to 0-3. USC's bench outscored Mississippi State's bench 20-6. USC's lone scorer in double figures was Aarika Hughes with 14 points. Mississippi State was led by Armelie Lumanu with 19 points and nine rebounds and Tykesha Grimes had a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Reef Division - Texas (70) vs. Rutgers (67) In the final game of the Reef Division, #13 Texas bounced back from a tough loss with a win over Rutgers, 70-67. Due to tie-breaking rules, Rutgers was crowned champion and USC finished in second place. With less than 10 seconds left in the game All-Tournament Team Member Kathleen Nash knocked down a three-pointer to put Texas ahead for good. Reef Division MVP Brittany Ray was the game's top scorer with 17 points and Monique Oliver had 13 points. The Longhorns' other All-Tournament member Brittany Raven had 15 points and Ashleigh Fontenette added 12.
